band trophiesThe Blue Gray Phoenix trophy was also awarded to the band at the ceremonies held late Saturday afternoon.
"We finished seven points out of first place," said band director Alan Montgomery. First place was won by Adair.
This was the first field competition for the 34-member band this school year. "We are putting out some good music and we will be working hard to improve even more before the spring competition."
The next appearance for the band will be in McAlester's Southeast OSSAA regional contest oct. 21.
Montgomery said he and the band members were appreciative of the parents, family members and friends who made the drive to Glenpool Saturday.
"That gives the kids more impetus to do better. They get to show off for somebody they know."
Those two trophies were numbers 110 and 111 that band students under Montgomery's leadership have won in his 16 years at henryetta.
