Ida Nell Fox, a resident of Okmulgee, died Jan. 15, 2015 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 65. She was born Sept. 9, 1949 in Seminole to Clell W. Henson and Dorothy Ann Buckley Henson. She was a graduate of Dewar High School Class of 1967. She married Cary Joe Fox Aug. 15, 1969 at Dewar First Baptist Church.
Ida Nell received a Bachelor's degree in Education at East Central University and completed her Master's degree at the University of Tulsa. Her career in education was at Preston Public Schools where she began as a Home Economics teacher and later became Principal of Preston Elementary School retiring in 2011.
She was a member of Preston Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Clell W. Henson and Dorothy Henson.
She is survived by her husband, Cary Fox of the home; three sons: Joe Brock Fox and wife Laura of Ft. Lee, Virginia, Joshua Fox and wife Annie of Okmulgee and Jay Fox and wife Misty of Okmulgee; seven grandchildren: P.J., Royce, Jacey, Kyle, Jackson, Leia, and Lee; three brothers: Don Henson and wife Beverly of Okmulgee, Neil Henson and wife Sue of Atlanta, Georgia and Mike Henson and wife Kathy of Arizona as well as a host of neices, nephews, friends and other relatives.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2015 at First Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Rev. Jack Vance and Rev. Wade Harelson officiating. Interment will follow in Little Cemetery, Little, Okla., under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
