The city of Henryetta received awards for the police and fire departments and city as a whole by a special Appreciation Award.
Chamber executive director Roy Madden praised the, "dedication of our city staff to make sure we have a safe place to life, city services, council and mayor working together to make the city better."
He cited fire department for their effort getting a new building. They did most of the work themselves. The police have done wonders with the old fire department. Our maintenance program needs to be honored for their efforts."
Mayor Bill Goodner gave congratulations to chief Norman and detective Jeremy Wade citing their efforts in solving a major crime in two weeks. "The fire department has reduced the city's ISO rating from 5 to 4 through training and work and organization. There are so many people who work night and day." He invited the public to come out some icy night and watch the water department repair water leak. Those repairs have reduced the water loss rate from 40 or 50 percent to less than 10 percent.
"I will put our employees up against those in Tulsa and Oklahoma City," he said.

Several humorous skits kept the laughter going through the night.
In keeping with the theme, police chief Steve Norman and Jeremy Johnson portrayed Biff and George McFly going through the time capsule buried at the library. Items discovered included tickets to the Super Bowl game to be played at Cameron Stadium and comments about a swimming pool built on a hillside.
