Henryetta elementary students doubled their reading goal this week.
The students were participating in Read Across America with hopes to read 1 million words. With the help of Henryetta fire and police volunteers as well as other members of the community, the students hit 2,634,871.
"This was a great effort on behalf of the students and the entire community," said elementary principal Kelly Furer. "This shows how, with the cooperation of everyone, we can make the school great."
