The Henryetta middle school girls tennis team tied for first place with Perry in their tournament Thursday.
Playing on their home courts, the girls captured first place in the number 2 singles and came in second in both number 1 and 2 doubles contests.
The HMS boys came in third behind Ada and Riverfield.
Taylor Hodge was the girls long champion winning her number 2 singles match 8-9 over Perry. She swept by Riverfield 8-3 then won 8-5 over Byng in the semifinals.
Teammate Haley Glass lost her number 1 singles match with Byng 8-5 but won 8-2 over Riverfield and took the consolation win 8-2 against McAlester.

In the girls number 1 doubles, the HMS team of Hodges and Purdue easily handled Riverfield 8-1 then passed by Shawnee with 8-2 to face Perry in the finales. They lost that contest 8-3.
The girls number 2 doubles saw Davis and Gold win 8-1 over McAlester then sail past Tahlequah 8-1. The finals contest against Byng turned out to be more difficult with the HMS girls losing 8-1.
Second place in the boys number 2 doubles went to the Henryetta team of Macaluso and Pelley. They blanked Byng 8-0 in the opener then downed Perry 8-5 but lost 8-2 to Ada in the finals.
Andrews and Lollis started out with an 8-2 win over Tahlequah in the number 1 doubles but lost 8-5 to Perry putting them in a third place contest with Riverfield. They won that match 8-3.
On the singles court, Kanon Bailey blanked Shawnee 8-0 in the number 1 singles but lost 8-1 to McAlester and had to settle for fourth after losing 8-5 to Byng.
Cory Knox made it to the consolation finals in the number 2 singles after losing 8-3 to Byng but winning 8-6 against Tahlequah. He lost an 8-1 decision to McAlester in the consolation finals.
