Local skateboarders were ripping up the concrete Monday in a Memorial Day skateboard contest.
There were 14 competitors showing off in the beginner, intermediate and advanced categories. Winners were chosen by the fans and other contestants.
Top three winners included beginner: Joseph Hernandez, intermediate: Caleb G. and advanced: Gage Henderson. The top three winners received $35 each. The skate park received $45 profit from the event.
According to skatepark volunteer director, Marcus Whitworth, sr., anyone wanting information or wishing to donate to the park should call him at 918-652-1358.
