A single-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 for nearly four hours and sent one person to the hospital.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at the 227 mile marker near the Clearview exit between Henryetta and Okemah when a 2010 International semi driven by Juan Robles, Charlotte North Carolina, rolled over.
Two Henryetta firemen were among the first on the scene of the crash.
Fire Captain Joe Smallwood and Lt. Larry Hall were coming back from a firefighters convention in Oklahoma City when they came upon the wreck.
The two called for law enforcement and an ambulance then started treating the driver.
Trooper Keith Robertson said the semi was westbound when it went off the left side of the road. He says the driver overcorrected causing the semi to roll onto the drivers side.
Robles was flown to St. Anthony's Hospital in Oklahoma City suffering internal and arm injuries. He is said to be in serious condition.
The highway was reopened shortly after 6 p.m.
