Jessie James Scott, 33, has been arrested for the murder of a Henryetta woman late Saturday evening.
jessie scottScott, a Henryetta resident, was apprehended at the home of a family member in Schulter late Sunday evening after police searched several homes in the area.

Police chief Steve Norman said officers were called to a home in the 200 block of West Merrick around 9:30 Saturday night.
When they arrived, they found Jima Burroughs had been shot in the face. Even though she was awake and alert when officers arrived, Burroughs died after being taken to Hillcrest henryetta Hospital. A weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered.
“After speaking with several individuals and assembling the District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force, investigators developed a person of interest,” said chief Norman. Officers went to several locations in Henryetta, “but we were always one step behind Scott.”
Once Scott was apprehended, he was taken to the Henryetta police department and interviewed about the incident.
He was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of first degree murder, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession a firearm after former felony conviction.
This is the second murder in Okmulgee County in two days.
Two people were arrested in connection with the death of Okmulgee resident Mikail Parker just north of that town Saturday morning. He was found in a vehicle with a gunshot wound to the head.
The District 25 Violent Crimes Task Force consists of officers from the Henryetta and Okmulgee police departments, County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s office. It was formed in Oct. 2015 and, according to Norman, has investigated nearly a dozen cases in the past 12 months. Of that, every one has resulted in arrests including five homicides.
This homicide was the first in Henryetta since 2015 when Samantha Stansifer killed her boyfriend, Jim Anthony Hall.
