Single digit wind chills did not deter a group of HHS students from performing an “Acoustic Cabaret” Sunday afternoon.
cabaret checkHeld at the HHS cafeteria, the afternoon of music and fun was designed to raise money to enable students to put on a full-length musical next year.
Class sponsor Felicia McGowan told the audience the students are, “passionate” about holding a musical. She said she could remember performances in years past and was glad to be a part of it.
From bake sales to raffles, the students have been trying to get to an initial $6,000 goal. That goal got a lot closer when local McDonald’s owner Matt and Mary Baldwin presented a $2,000 check to the group. He said his restaurant believes in giving back to the community.
