Auditions will be held Feb. 21 for “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee”.
Liz Bealko Headshot 2Director Liz Bealko said the auditions will be from 5 to 7 p.m. in Christle Well’s classroom at the Henryetta Middle School.
“We have a page for students to sign up for a time slot on Tracey Sontag’s door,” she said. Callbacks will be held Feb. 23.
All those wishing to participate should have at least one song of their choice and be prepared to perform a cappella or with their own accompaniment.
The musical is being performed through the Henryetta high school Performing Arts Student Association. That group organized several months ago to  bring back musicals to the school. Student-led, the group held several fundraising projects and received donations to purchase the rights to the musical.
Bealko is the daughter of Pam and Andy Bealko. She graduated from Henryetta high school and has since made the theater her life’s work.
While at HHS, she appeared in both Beauty and the Beast and Guys and Dolls performances. She has a bachelors in fine arts in music performance from Oklahoma State University and developed an Arts Incubator for Oklahoma State University. She was the production assistant for the Strawhat Summer Stalk production form 2014 through 2017.
At OSU, she was in a number of musicals and has performed in New York City.
She has volunteered her time to come back to Henryetta and direct the local performance.

Keep up with the students and the performance at their Facebook Page.
