Traffic on SH 52 south of Morris was brought to a standstill Wednesday morning when a single-engine airplane had to make an emergency landing.
downed planeThe pilot told OHP troopers he was trying to switch fuel tanks and failed to get them switched completely. That caused the plane to run out of fuel.
He was able to bring the plane to a safe landing on the roadway then coasted off the pavement.
A short time later, the fuel tank issue was resolved and the plane took off under its own power.
