Two illegal aliens were arrested and over 100 pounds of marijuana confiscated Friday as the  result of a traffic stop by Okmulgee County sheriff’s deputy Ethan Mulkey.
marijuanaThe two, Armando Rios and Maria Isabel, were said to have been westbound on Interstate 40 when the deputy puled them over.
Mulkey said he stopped the vehicle when it made an unsafe lane change and had been following another vehicle too closely.
Rios, 30, was the driver and Isabel, 21, the passenger. During his talk with the two, he said they caused him to be suspicious of the vehicle and found several bales of marijuana in the truck. The carefully-wrapped bales weighed 110 pounds.
Rios was booked into the Okmulgee County jail for trafficking in illegal drugs and following another vehicle too closely. Isabel was also jailed on a complaint of trafficking in illegal drugs.
Both will also be detained for Homeland Security officers.
