The planned vo-ag program at Henryetta schools got a boost Saturday through a golf tournament. Proceeds from the entry fees and prize drawings brought in over $2,400 for the new program.
golf2Heather Ogle, new owner of Bartolina’s at Schulter initiated the tournament with some 13 teams braving the chill wind to go 18 holes at the Henryetta golf course.
Taking the championship in the four-man scramble was the team of Larry Burney, Zack Walker, Dale Horn and Wayne Robertson.
Henryetta school superintendent Dwayne Noble said he is in the process of interviewing potential ag instructors.
The program is scheduled to start with the beginning of classes in August.
