An Okmulgee man is in custody after a shooting and lengthy standoff early Wednesday morning in Okmulgee.
MICHAEL PAUL EAGANMichael Paul Eagan, 40, was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on a complaint of shooting with intent to kill. The charges came after deputies arrived at a mobile home at 814 S. Kern Ave., after a report of a shooting.
When they arrived they found a man lying on the ground next to one of the mobile homes. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition.
Deputies learned a suspect was inside one of the mobile homes and started trying to talk him out. During the standoff, an elderly woman was able to leave the mobile home.
Some 90 minutes later, Eagan was taken into custody.
Officers from the Cities of Okmulgee and Henryetta as well as investigators from the District 25 District Attorneys office were part of the Okmulgee County Sheriff's Office Special Operations Team (SOT).
Deputies are still trying to get more information about the incident. Anyone who has information is asked to call the county sheriff’s office.
