Margie Crabtree Palmer, age 95, of Harrison, Ark., died May 13, 2017.  She was the oldest daughter of John Herman and Della (Payne) Crabtree, born March 8, 1922, in Pittsburg County.  Margie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Eugene Gizzi; her husband, William Clifton Palmer; her daughter, Patricia Porter; her son, Don Terry Gizzi; her granddaughter, Suzanne Cross; her grandson, John D. Porter; her sisters, Louise Brown and LaVerne Sukenis and her brother, Paul John Crabtree.  
Margie sang in the choir and taught Sunday school at the Baptist church in Henryetta. Later moving to Hartshorne, Oklahoma, she later became a member of the Assembly of God church where she wrote the church news and taught a women’s class for many years. Margie attended school in Hartshorne. She worked at the telephone companies in Hartshorne and Kansas City, Missouri, where she was an operator. After the death of her beloved husband Bill in 1998, Margie moved to Harrison in 2001 to be with her daughter Patricia and her family.
Margie is survived by her son-in-law, John Porter; her granddaughters, Diana Jones, Brenda Rawlski, and Christa Lambert; her great-grandchildren, Eric Jones, Ryan Jones, Rachael Case, J. D. Winberry, Shawna Carter, Taesha Burleson, Hannah Porter, Mark Fields and Evan Lambert; ten great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other family.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Elmwood Cemetery in Hartshorne.  Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
