henryetta heat

There’s a group of Henryetta girls that have been turning on the heat in 14 and under softball.
The Henryetta Heat are the USSSA champions and will be playing in the world series next month in Branson, Missouri.
That state champ title was won last Saturday night in Moore when the girls took a 10-8 win over the Poteau Stix. The Henryetta girls defeated Stix in the semi-finals 8-6 but lost the first game of the championship 1-8.
Until that loss, the Henryetta girls were undefeated in the USSSA state tournament. They started with back to back identical 5-2 wins over the Stillwater Steele and Del City Swat in the opening pool games.
Going into the brackets, the Heat took a 4-1 over the Steel June 10 then returned Sinday, June 11 to blast a 13-7 win over the Oklahoma Kaos from Broken Arrow. That put them into the semi-finals where they downed Stix 8-6.
Making up the Henryetta Heat are: Alexis Hamilton, Skylar Morris, Lexi Lollis, Kasedi Gobin, Jalynn Joslin, Avery Miller, Jayden Ausbrooks, Skylar Smallwood, Katelyn Dwiggins and Bailee Worlow.
That state championship paved the way for the girls to go to the World Series in Branson. The girls have a pair of fundraising efforts underway now to finance that trip. They are selling tickets for a $300 VISA card and Mossburg shotgun. The VISA card tickets are $3 each and the shotgun tickets are $5 each. Drawings for both will be held June 30.
