Cecil Wayne Sparks, a resident of Henryeta, died June 24, 2017 in Fort Gibson at the age of 76. He was born Sept. 8, 1940 in Checotah to Raymond Cecil Sparks and Alice Gray (Pennington) Sparks.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
Cecil proudly served the United States during the Vietnam War in the US NAVY. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal for his service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice Sparks, his brother, Johnny Sparks and by his wife, Glenda Sparks.
Cecil is survived by his two sons, Gary Sparks and wife Lynn of Fort Gibson and Jeff Sparks and wife Amy of Karney, Missouri; grandchildren: Ashley Hancock and husband Curtis of Fort Gibson, Kelli Carpenter and husband Coby of Fort Gibson, Sarah Lively and husband Levi of Broken Arrow, Baylee Brame of Karney, Missouri, and Taylor Sparks of Karney; four great grandchildren: Parker Hancock of Fort Gibson, Charlee Carpenter of Fort Gibson, Jackson Lively of Broken Arrow, and Oliver Brame of Karney, Missouri; sister, Wilma Sprouse and husband John of Dewar; nephew, Tony Sprouse of Denver, Colo.; niece, Sheri Whitlow and husband Mike of Dewar, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10 a.m. at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Jack Vance, officiating. Interment will follow at Council Hill Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
