Okmulgee police say an apparent domestic dispute ended with shots being fired and one man arrested.
michael johnsonAccording to police chief Joe Prentice, officers were called to a house on reports of a shooting. Witnesses at the scene told officers Michael L. Johnson, 64, had fired two gunshots into a home at 1301 North Buffalo. The chief said he was told Johnson allegedly threatened a former girlfriend because she had ended their relationship.
When the girlfriend’s family members ran into the house and closed the door, Johnson was said to have fired into the door. Even though there were several adults and a child inside the home, no one was struck by the bullets.
Johnson fled the scene and was later found in Sallisaw.
Chief Prentice said officers went to Sallisaw to interview Johnson and bring him back to Okmulgee.
