Someone wanting to see real basketball action had their wishes granted Monday when the Henryetta and Weleetka girls tangled in the HHS Invitational tournament.
Even though the Lady Knights would eventually lose 44-42, fans on both sides of the gym were never going to be sure of the outcome.
It actually looked as though the Lady Knights be in an overtime situation when Hanna Gouge nailed a three pointer to tie the game at 42-42 and with less than a handful of seconds on the clock. Weleetka's Lady Outlaws came down the court with two passes, feeding the ball to Alexis Lowrey who made the two points for the win just as the buzzer started to sound.
Both teams were tied up 10-10 at the end of the first quarter then the Lady Knights moved ahead by four, 26-22 at the half.
Henryetta saw the return of senior Alissa Taylor in that game but it would be the last appearance she would make in the tournament. She had nine points during the evening.
Gouge and Aundrea Hamric both scored 11 for the Lady Knights followed by Maddie Gouge with five, Addison Ellis, four and Mykaela Wallace, two.
For Weleetka, Lowrey was the leading scorer with 14 points followed by Kylie Williamson, 12, Abrey Frye and Jaycee Weeks, five each, Cady Dye and Autumn Creason, three each and Xexxie Posey, two.
