Clifford William Prewitt was born July 11, 1930 in Amarillo, Texas, the son of Claude and Ora B. (Johnson) Prewitt. He died Aug. 17, 2017 at his home in Anderson, Missouri at the age of 87.
Clifford was raised in Henryetta and served in the U.S. Army, from July 1948 to July 1968, serving in the 5th Special Forces, (Green Beret). He served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Wars and was stationed all over the world. He was honorably discharged as a Major. Following his discharge, he was a cattle rancher. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Clifford married Ruth (Crofut) on Nov. 26, 1949 and she preceded him in death in 2005.
He is survived by two children, Roseanna K. P. McClure of Pittsburg, Kansas and David William Prewitt of Gilbert, Arizona; three grandchildren, Justin David Prewitt, Colleen Ruth Mulhollen and Dustin William McClure and three great grandchildren, Alainna Mulhollen, Carson Mulhollen and Harrison Clifford Prewitt.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Ted Prewitt.
Clifford has been taken for cremation and no services are planned at this time.
