Mary Donathan Thomas Swaim died Sept. 7, 2017 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born July 23, 1932 in Wynnewood to Cecil and Ellen Donathan.
She graduated from Los Alamos high school in Los Alamos, New Mexico in 1950. Then attended Texas Women’s University in College Station Texas where she met and married Francis “Sonny” Thomas. During her career, Mary worked as a secretary at Los Alamos National Laboratory, tax accessor for Nueces Canyon Consolidated School District in Texas, and Insurance Agent in Okmulgee.
Mary married Frances “Sonny” Thomas in 1951 in College Station, Texas, and was happily married until his death in 1999). She later married Victor Swaim in 2002 in Grand Junction, Colorado in 2002 and was happily married for 10 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Ellen Donathan, husband Frances “Sonny” Thomas, and husband Victor Swaim.
Mary is survived by her children Donna and Douglas Bailey of Mesa, James and Cindy Thomas of Kingwood, Texas, and Carol Stucki of Mesa; five grandchildren: Brandy Quick (Stephen), Kane (Molina) Thomas, Jacob Thomas, Lianna Trevino and Seve Trevino; as well as three great grandchildren.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m., Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta. Interment will follow immediately at Salt Creek Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
