barclay bridge workRusted support beams will be replaced and repairs to the sandstone rock wing walls on the Barclay Street bridge in order to get it to pass inspection. The bridge was closed last month following an inspection by Oklahoma Department of Transportation personnel. That inspection was held late Friday and the bridge was deemed safe to use. The nearly 90-year-old bridge has one part nearly filled with dirt and silt that will have to be removed in order to get the water flowing smoothly. Crews had to remove a 75-foot tall tree that leaned over the creek and threatened to topple onto the bridge. Complicating the project are the water, sewer, fibre optic and gas lines that run under and alongside of the bridge.
