The millon-gallon water storage tank on the hill east of Henryetta is now full of water. That new tank was built over the past four months taking the place of an aging and nearly derelict structure.
Workers first had to cut away the steel sides on the old tank and haul it off. New, pre-stressed concrete panels were poured on the ground then hoisted in place with a heavy  duty crane. Workers used a network of scaffolding built inside the tank to reach the upper portion of the structure. That scaffolding was later taken apart and removed piece by piece through an access port. The top of the all concete structure was  finished with wedge-shaped concrete panels then a steel cable wrapped around the entire water tank. After the water lines were connected, the tank was filled and water quality tested by the state. It will be going into actual operation next week.
