Henryetta and Okmulgee County property owners are receiving their 2017 tax statements this week.
Okmulgee County treasurer Vonna Lampkins said this year taxpayers will be getting a bit of a break on the payment deadline.
“Normally the “First Half” is due on December 31st but the County Treasurer has extended the deadline for the “First Half” to January 12th, 2018 and the “Second Half” will be due on March 31st, 2018,” she said. The treasurer’s office will be open until 4:30 p.m. on those days or until the last taxpayer has left.
There will be statements mailed out on the second half of the payment schedule.
“If you don’t receive your tax statement soon, please call the office and we can give you the amount over the phone.”
Property owners can make credit card payments in the office or on line at the treasurer’s website. The credit card company will be charging a three percent fee for each transaction. The treasurer’s official website is: http://www.tmconsulting.us.com/visitor/visitor_home.php?cnty=Okmulgee.
This site allows taxpayers to view tax information online, calculate mortgage tax and to pay taxes by credit card.
Anyone with back taxes due will see “BT” at the end of their Tax Roll Identification Number. At the bottom of the statement there will be the years that are delinquent printed in a block and highlighted.
On Nov. 1, the Okmulgee County Assessor certified a total of $16,906,077.00 to be collected for the 2017 Tax Year.
