Jim “Chili” Powders, 67, Henryetta, died Dec. 1. Jim was born July 1, 1950, in Bartlesville to Archie Ervin and Wilma Jean (Cowan) Powders.
He married Lynn Padgett, Sept. 5, 1980, at his parent’s residence. They resided in Henryetta.
Jim was employed at Charlie Ruth Ford as a mechanic for 17 years. In 1986, Jim and Lynn opened up Jim’s Auto Service. They owned and operated it until 2016, when Jim retired. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Wilma Powders; brothers, Tommie Ray Powders, David Dewayne Powders, and Archie Lee Powders; sister, Pamela Jean Mull; and a very special brother-in-law, Bill Mull.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lynn of the home; daughter Amanda Daylynn Powders and fiancé Jeff Owens and their son, Caden Blaine; son, Colby Powders and wife Jaime and their children, David Nathan, Kekoa, Kainalu, Anuhea, Kunane, Kawehi, Lee and wife Rachel, and soon to be great granddaughter, Gracie Adeline (due March 2018); son, Jimmy Powders Jr. and his children, Zack, Mya, Ethan, Hunter, and Chase; grandson, Riley Floyd; special grandchildren, Timmy Brooks and Tehani and Tiamani Aguilar, whom he loved dearly; a very special nephew, Datson (John) Grigsby; and one sister, Sue Powders.
A memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Tulledega Baptist Church located at 3000 West Main in Henryetta with Bro. Dale Huckabay officiating.
