Santa will be one of the special guests featured in the Henryetta Christmas Light parade Saturday night.
stacia knightThe parade will have the jolly bearded gentleman as well as KOTV television personalities Stacia Knight and Brandon Wells. This is the first time in the nearly ten years the parade has been held that television stations have been a part of the celebration. Prior to the start of hte parade, the Air Evac helicopter will be flying down Main Street.
According to Pam Maples, parade chair, nearly 30 entries are going to be participating, each decorated with the glowing and twinkling lights that have delighted thousands since it’s inception. The theme this year will be “Classic Christmas.” That theme was chosen to give participants a lot of latitude to decorate their vehicles and floats.brandon wells
The parade will start at 6:30 p.m. from Eighth Street to Third. Spectators are encouraged to dress warmly for the event since the temperature is expected to drop just below the freezing mark.
Prior to the parade, Santa will be at Veterans Park visiting with the children and hearing what they want for Christmas. He is expected to be at the park around 4 p.m.
Entries are still being taken and will be taken up to 6 p.m. Saturday night. Entry forms can still be downloaded here: {phocadownload view=file|id=28|target=s} and brought to the parade committee at the lineup point on Eighth and Main.
