Area law enforcement officers are still doing the paperwork following five different chases throughout Okmulgee County over a three hour period Saturday night.
Two of those chases went through Henryetta with one spending nearly a half hour trying to elude officers throughout the neighborhoods. One of the fleeing suspects tried to strike two policemen who were chasing him but they were able to swerve out of the way.
Officers wound up pursuing one vehicle down Bryant Road with the chase ending when the suspect rolled their vehicle at the Okfuskee County line. A second pursuit ended at the Pharoah and US 62 junction.
Okmulgee police initiated two of the five pursuits with one being reported as a stolen vehicle. That individual stopped his car at the Okmulgee cemetery and ran from officers. Even though police searched the area, they were not able to capture the suspect.
At the same time one of the pursuits was underway, an ambulance had to be called to the Walmart parking lot. According to officers, an elderly woman was walking across the street and fell sustaining leg and hip injuries. She was taken to the Henryetta medical center for treatment.
