While most people were anticipating temperatures going above freezing this past week, city workers watch the thermometer with dread. Following 11 days of extreme cold, the ground has frozen along water lines. Once the thaw started, that resulted in over a half-dozen water line breaks like the one above. This break happened Sunday when a six-inch line burst spewing water along Fourth Street. Workers spent most of hte night doing the repairs and were facing more breaks this week.
