Guandina E Pulliam, a longtime resident of Dewar, died March 28, 2015 in Tulsa at the age of 88. She was born July 27, 1926 in rural Henryetta to Jesse Pippin and Georgia Mae (Calhoun) Pippin.
Guandina graduated from Bryant High School in May 1946 and married her childhood sweetheart James A. Pulliam June 3, 1946 and were married 65 1/2 years before he passed away December 19, 2011.
Guandina was a member of the Dewar United Pentecostal Church and attended faithfully since 1946. She taught Sunday School class for forty plus years. She worked with the Ladies Auxilary and played the piano and accordion for a number of years.
She and her husband owned and operated Pulliam Tax and Bookkeeping service for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James A. Pulliam, her parents, Jessie and Georgia Mae Pippin, a brother Cal Pippin, also his wife, Stella Pippin. Also preceding her in death is a brother-in-law, Richard Pulliam, also his wife Anna Bernice Pulliam, a sister-in-law, Linda Pulliam also a niece Louise Pulliam.
She is survived by three children: Larry P. Pulliam and wife Carol of Springer, Okla., Robert P. Pulliam and wife Twana of Prairieville, Louisiana and Debby Brice and husband Skip of Kiefer; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jimmy Pulliam of Dewar; nephew, Richard Wayne Pulliam of Dewar; two nieces, Linda Fairchild and Brenda Woodall; special double cousin, Jackie Prince; also by a host of friends and other relatives.
Viewing will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, March 30, 2015 at Dewar United Pentecostal Church with Rev. Matthew Martin and Rev. Gregg Joki officiating. Interment will follow in New Sonora Cemetery under direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
