There’s a basketball game that Taylor VanMeter will not forget for a long time.
The Weleetka Lady Outlaw point guard and her team were playing Porum this week in a game that seemed destined to go to overtime.
Porum tied up the game at 49-all with three seconds left to play.
That’s when VanMeter took the inbound throw from Katelyn Wiliamson and started a dash down court.
The final seconds were speeding by when VanMeter threw a lunging toss to the basket. The buzzer sounded just as the ball entered the hoop adding three points to the Lady Outlaw total for a game-winning 52-49 margin.
She is the daughter of Wesley and Martha VanMeter and will be returning next year as a senior for Weleetka.
