Violet Elizabeth Moss, a resident of Henryetta, died Feb. 21, 2018 in Henryetta at the age of 78. She was born Nov. 20, 1939 in Shawnee to R. G. Alfrey and Mary Elizabeth (Butler) Alfrey.
She married Calvin Dale Moss November 22, 1957 in Shawnee. To this union two sons were born, Richard and Stephen. Vi owned and operated daycares as well as worked in various daycares. She was a faithful member of Dewar First Baptist Church.
Violet is preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Dale Moss, a son, Stephen Moss, also by her parent, R. G. and Mary Alfrey.
She is survived by one son, Richard Dale Moss and wife Nancy of Healdton; eight grandchildren: Matthew Moss and wife Melissa of Plano, Tex., Stephanie Reida and husband Adam of Wichita, Kan., Samantha White of Ardmore, Tabitha Normile of Oklahoma, Terry Allred, Jr., and wife Sharon of Healdton, Chris Rusgrove and wife Ashley of Oklahoma City, Taylor Osborne and wife Samantha of Grandview, Missouri and Cheyenne Osborne of Oklahoma; 17 great grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; brother, Robert Gibbs Alfrey and wife Tiny of Monument, Colorado; two nieces, Tiffany and Crystal; also by a niece, Karen Bartolina and husband Bobby of Morgantown, West Virginia; a great niece, Jeryl Johnston and husband Martin of Arlington, Virginia; as well as her beloved church family and many, many friends and other relatives.
Viewing for Violet will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 23 at Integrity Funeral Service. Viewing with family present to greet friends will be 9:45 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., Saturday at Dewar First Baptist Church.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday February 24, 2018 at Dewar First Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Wells and Rev. Jack Vance officiating. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery under direction and care of Integrity Funeral Service.
