A 12-year prison sentence has been recommended after an Okmulgee County jury found Cinque Ahmad Gadson guilty of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
gadsonGadson was arrested on Interstate 40 by Okmulgee County deputies. He was said to have been transporting 18.5 pounds of marijuana compressed into bundles from Tucson, Ariz., en route to Georgia. Okmulgee County district attorney Rob Barris said the drugs had been taken from the trunk of a car Gadson was driving and thrown into a drainage ditch alongside of the interstate where they were recovered by deputies.
The trial for the 40-year-old Gadson spanned four days. Along with the 12-year sentence recommendation, Gadson also faces a $20,000 fine.
