Update:
The two arrested in the large meth seizure Tuesday morning have been identified.
Driving the vehicle was Jorge Alberto Barron, 20, from Colorado. He has been placed in the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of trafficking a controlled dangerous substance, speeding and no drivers license in possession.
The passenger in the vehicle was Ana Daniela, Duenas, 19, also of Colorado. She was booked into the county jail on a complaint of trafficking a controlled dangerous substance.
A traffic stop early Tuesday morning resulted in one of the largest, if not the largest seizures of methamphetamines in Okmulgee County history.
Over 44 pounds of crystal meth with a street value that could reach $2 million, was from a vehicle.
Police chief Steve Norman said the bust started when officers pulled over a vehicle heading north on US 75 shortly after midnight on a routine traffic stop.
When officers began questioning the driver and occupant, they became suspicious and brought Malo, the drug dog to check out the vehicle.
“Malo alerted and we found the drugs hidden in boxes. They were wrapped in plastic and sealed with tape. Along with the drugs, we recovered $5,600 in cash.” Their vehicle was also impounded.
The driver and occupant were taken to the police department for questioning. The drugs have been sent to the lab in Oklahoma City for testing.
Norman said the loss of that quantity of drugs would have a “major impact” on the city they were destined to be going to.
A single gram of meth sells on the street for about $50. The 44 pounds would amount to nearly 20,000 grams of the illegal substance. 
He said the suspects were coming from Houston where they were believed to have picked up the drugs.
In addition to the local charges, the pair could be facing federal charges relating to interstate drug trafficking.
This is not the first time that traffic stops have resulted in large drug busts in the area.
In December, 2014 and February, 2015, Okmulgee County deputies made stops that netted thousands of dollars worth of marijuana.
