Ronnie Duke will be back on the Henryetta city council.
Duke was appointed to fill the seat vacated by At large council member Bill Goodner earlier this month. It is the second time Duke has been on the city council. Duke will be on the council for two years. At that time, a replacement will be voted on. Also coming up for election on that ballot will be Christy Jeffcoat and Janna Dugan.
A second name, Kevin Green, was dropped from consideration upon his request. Green said he is considering running for election when it comes up before the voters.
The city of Henryetta has a new website. The site, which can be reached at www.cityofhenryetta.com, was built by Bruce Jones. The site is described as “clean and easy to navigate,” according to Jones.
There are pages for every department and board complete with contact information for each. A “Contact Us” page has a form that residents can fill out with questions or comments and email to the city. The fire department page has a form that local residents with storm shelters can register them.

Jennifer Clason said an inspection at the water plant was held and no problems were found. “We have close to the best water in the state of Oklahoma,” she said. She pointed out that problems with pipes going to individual houses can affect the quality of water by some residents.
So far this year three children have gone to the emergency room for treatment of injuries from jumping off the fishing dock. Clason said there are signs that have been posted warning people not to jump or dive from the dock. “They steal those signs or tear them down,” she said.
State auditors  representatives have held some meetings with the city already. Clason said records requested by the auditors have been furnished. That audit is the result of a petition gathered over a year ago. "We have had a public forum going over teverything in that. I'm sure there's lots better things they can be looking into. We don't have anything to hide," she said. She pointed out that is going to cost the town in excess of $50,000.
