In two days, the HHS Lady Knights posted back to back shut out wins against Preston then Okmulgee.
Opening up the week on the Preston field, the HHS girls opened with a pair of runs in the first then three in the third. It was the fourth inning that saw eight runs go on the board for the win.
In the first frame, Jaylynn Joslin singled then went into scoring position with a steal and Preston error. A sacrifice out by Avery Miller gave Joslin the time she needed to get home and put the Lady Knights on the board.
That was followed by Kasedi Gobin singling to center then scoring on a Lexi Lollis double.
The fourth inning saw the Lady Knights dominate with singles by Hamric, Joslin, and Miller, doubles by Dwiggins and Lollis, a walk by Dwiggins, and by Gobin adding eight runs and closing off the game.
Miller was the pitcher for the HHS girls allowing no runs and only one hit.
Still fired up after that win, the girls scored two runs in the second inning against Okmulgee, added another in the third, four in the fourth and two in the fifth for the 9-0 shutout.
An Okmulgee error gave Lollis the opportunity to put the Lady Knights on the board in the top of the second. She was followed with Kalie Hamric scoring on a wild pitch.
Miler used a third inning single to center by Dwiggins to score the third run for Henryetta.
Huleah Wincle started the scoring parade for Henryetta in the fourth inning when walked then advanced to third. She used a Joslin single to get home.
Denton and Joslin both scored when Brittani Hembree bunted and got on base with an Okmulgee catcher’s error. She would score on a ground out by Miller.
In the fifth, Hamric used another Okmulgee error to get on base then scored off a wild pitch. The final run came when Denton walked then used a Joslin single to get to second. She would score off an out by Hembree.
The Lady Knights had 12 hits in the game with Joslin going three for four in her appearances.
