A Muskogee woman was injured in a crash early Saturday morning on US 266 about three miles east of Hitchita.
According to OHP Trooper Christopher Reeves, Daisha Miles, 26, was the lone occupant of a 2003 Ford Escape that was westbound on US 266 around 9 a.m.
Trooper Reeves said she apparently went to sleep while driving and the vehicle went off the left side of the road and struck a tree. Miles was pinned in the vehicle until members of the Checotah fire department could cut her free.
She was flown to St. Francis hospital for treatment of head, leg and internal injuries.
