Mary Lynn (Best) Thompson died Oct. 11, 2018 in Tulsa at the age of 59. Mary was born May 9, 1959 in Sonoma County, Calif., to Lowell Best and Helen (Randolph) Best.
She grew up in California and she attended school there. After receiving her training as a nurse, Mary worked as a nurse at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in California where she remained for approximately 12 years. Mary moved to Oklahoma in 1998. She met the love of her life and was married to Darren Land Thompson. She worked for Oklahoma State University Extension Service specializing with the Elderly Outreach Program. Mary worked in several Outreach offices for OSU. Mary later worked with Eufaula Hospital for approximately three years before transitioning in her career to home health care.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Lowell and Helen Best; and an infant brother, Michael Dean "Baby" Best.
Mary is survived by her husband, Darren L. Thompson of the home; a daughter, Randi Deanne Hirsch of Tulsa; a son, Dalton Price Thompson of Checotah; two grandchildren, Abbigail Lynn Hirsch of Tulsa and Logan Denver Chandler of Checotah; a brother, Ronald Dean Best of Cotati, Calif.; a sister, Debbie Best of McAlester; a niece, April Dawn Wisman of McAlester; and a nephew, Troy Dale Wisman of McAlester; as well as other extended family and many good friends.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018 at Integrity Chapel, 410 E. Trudgeon Street in Henryetta. Arrangements have been entrusted to Integrity Funeral Service of Henryetta.
