If December holds true, Henryetta is in position to post a record sales tax receipts.
This month the state returned $232,290 to the town, an increase of $10,747 above the November 2017 figures.
So far this year the city has received an average of 225,219 each month in sales taxes. If keeping with that average next month, the total for the calendar year will amount to just over $2,714,634.
A stronger economy and more people shopping at home is said to be the driving force behind the increased sales tax returns this year.
More people were spending money in Dewar also. The monthly sales tax distribution to Dewar was $10,889 compared to $9,920 a year ago.
Statewide, $150,281,956 in sales tax collections returned to cities and towns reflected an increase of $5,388,838 from the $144,893,118 distributed to the cities and towns in November last year.
