Charles Wayne Wilbourn died Dec. 12, 2018 at his niece's home in Hitchita at the age of 69. His niece Michelle Baker had cared for him for quite some time. Charles was born Sept. 2, 1949 in Okemah to Roy Wilbourn and Marie Dewebber Wilbourn.
He grew up in the Okemah area and attended Bearden School. He later moved to Okmulgee with his family before settling in the Henryetta area during his later years. Charles was a career truck driver and an experienced heavy equipment operator, having worked in the pipeline and trucking business. He was an accomplished welder and had numerous heavy equipment skills. Charles was employed at C&C Trucking of Dewar.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Ann (Hines) Wilbourn; his parents, Roy and Marie Wilbourn; a brother, Ronald Wilbourn; and an infant brother, J.D. Wilbourn.
He is survived by his two children: Anthony W. Wilbourn and wife Christy of Howe and Jeanetta (Wilbourn) Sargent and husband Todd of Elk City; four grandchildren: Cody Ray Lord of Chanute, Okla., Justin Ray Lord of Elk City, Garrett Lane Wilbourn of Dewitt Ark., and Chyenne Elizabeth Wilbourn of Howe; a great grandson, Whesyn Lord; a brother, Roy L Wilbourn and wife Edith Allene of Dewar; brother, Dwight Wilbourn and wife Kim of Henryetta; a sister, Kathy Wilbourn Brown and husband Dewitt of Muskogee; a very dear and close friend, Larry Patton and wife Kathy of Tulsa; numerous nieces and nephews, other extended family, and many good friends.
Viewing for Charles will be held from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 14, 2018 at Integrity Funeral Service in Henryetta.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, 2018 at Heaven's Way Full Gospel Church, located at 210 N. 6th Street in Okemah with Rev. Michael Ballew officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Morse Cemetery of Okemah under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Jack Lloyd, Stephen Doyle, Wendall Edmondson, R.L. Wilbourn, and Justin Wilbourn.
