She is one of three finalists from Oklahoma selected in 47 agricultural proficiency award categories. For the past year, she has been interning for a national agricultural advocacy blog called Raised in a Barn. Through her internship she has earned the opportunity to write articles about FFA and share stories from FFA members around the United States.
The state winner in each area will be announced May 1 during the 93rd State FFA Convention held at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
HHS FFA advisor Cody Dawson said proficiency awards recognize excellence in a supervised agricultural experience program and exceptional accomplishment in progressing toward specific agricultural career objectives. These awards encourage members to develop specialized skills to apply toward future careers. Members are recognized for their accomplishments at the local, state and national levels.
The state winner in each area will represent Oklahoma in the national FFA competition this fall in Indianapolis. In addition to receiving a plaque and cash award, finalists will enjoy an honors luncheon with their sponsors
