Two Okmulgee residents were wounded in a shooting Wednesday and a suspect arrested Thursday morning.
According to Okmulgee police chief Joe Prentice, Rashod Savion Griffin, 20, has been booked into the county jail on two counts of shooting with intent to kill and one fount of feloniously firing into an occupied dwelling.
The shooting was said to have occurred at a home at Miami and Fourth streets.griffin
Officers said Trashe Shannon, 19, and Cameron Burgess, 21, were found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. Shannon was shot in the chest, stomach, leg and suffered a grazing wound to the head. Burgess suffered a gunshot wound to his foot.
Both were treated at the hospital in Okmulgee then taken to Tulsa hospitals for further treatment of their injuries. The chief said they are expected to survive their injuries.
Members of the District 25 Violent Crime Task Force were called in to help in the investigation. At the scene, 26 spent shell casings from two different caliber weapons in the roadway. Witnesses at the scene told officers they saw two and possibly three people in a light colored car, pull up and stop at the house. At least one occupant got out and began shooting at the victims and others which were sitting on a porch.
