An Edmond man died in a car wreck on the Indian nation turnpike south of Henryetta Saturday afternoon.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Alexander McAlpin, 25, was killed when he was pinned in the crash two miles south of town shortly after 2 p.m.
McAlpin was a passenger in a 2014 Infinity driven by Joseph Dowell, 32, Mounds. Trooper Keith Robertson said the Infinity northbound on the turnpike when it went off the roadway striking a 1999 Dodge pickup driven by Armondo Sandoval, 41 from Wichita, Kansas.
The pickup was pulling a 29-foot travel trailer and was disabled on the right side of the roadway.
McAlpin was pinned in the crashed Infinity for nearly an hour. He was pronounced dead at the scene due to head injuries by Okmulgee County EMS.
Dowell was transported to the Henryetta hospital for treatment of head and arm injuries. He was later released from the hospital.
A 13-year-old passenger in the Sandoval truck was taken to Hillcrest Henryetta hospital with leg injuries where he was treated and released.
Trooper Robertson said the condition of the driver and exact cause of the crash is still under investigation.
