A two-run homer by Jared Montgomery was just part of the tally as the HHS baseball team destroyed Midway 21-2 Monday afternoon.
Playing in a quickly organized game to give both team some more time on the field, the game saw the Henryetta nine completely dominate in a run-rule contest.
The game started with Drew Brown putting the ball deep into center for a triple in the first inning. He scored on a single by Montgomery.
Doubles by Gouge and McKinney put Henryetta ahead 3-0 then the Knights really took charge.
The third inning had nine runs with just the entire batting order either scoring or getting on base. That’s when Montgomery had his in the park homer.
The fourth inning was a repeat of the third with eight of the nine batters walking then scoring or getting on with singles.
Midway had two runs in the top of the fifth with back to back singles.
The Knights are going to keep the action going the rest of the week with a three-way contest between Antlers and Okmulgee Tuesday, a home game with Keifer Friday at 1 then Weleetka here Saturday also at 1.
