After a disappointing loss to Tecumseh, the HHS Lady Knights had a terrific game with a 13-0 shutout win over Morris Thursday evening.
Henryetta’s Avery Miller was responsible for four of those runs with a single in the first inning that scored Jaylynn Joslin, a two-run homer over left field fence in the third scoring Lauren Lee and a fourth inning single that scored Kasedi Gobin.
The scoring started in the first when Gobin singled then crossed home from a sacrifice fly by Lee. The single by Miller for a Joslin RBI gave Henryetta a two-run lead.
Any attempt to score by the Eagles came to a halt when Joslin picked up a hit and fired the ball to Gobin for one out then Gobin completed the throw to Autumn Blackbear at first for a double play. That was the first of two double plays the Lady Knights would complete during the evening.
Katlyn Dwiggins and Huleah WIncle scored two runs for Henryetta on RBIs from Kaley Hamric and Emily Smith.
The five runs in the third followed by four runs in the fourth completed the HHS scoring giving the Lady Knights the run-rule win.
In the fourth, Henryetta loaded the bases with a Gobin single, Joslin double and Lee walk. Miller singled scoring Gobin then Madelynn Blackbear doubled scoring Joslin and Lee. Autumn Blackbear had her single to center bringing home Miller. An opportunity for another run resulted in an out when Madelynn Blackbear was hit by the ball for offensive interference. Morris was able to put Dwiggins out on a grounder to second that ended the game.
