The Muscogee (Creek) Nation is accepting applications for the 2015 MCN Scholarship Pageant through Friday, May 1 at 5 p.m.
The purpose of the pageant is to provide an educational scholarship opportunity to young Muscogee (Creek) women and help develop public speaking skills, self-confidence and cultural knowledge of Muscogee (Creek) history, customs and traditions. This year's pageant theme is “We Are Mvskoke." ‘Mvskoke' is the traditional spelling for ‘Muscogee.'
“We hope that contestants will benefit by learning more about their Mvskoke heritage, culture and language while also representing the Nation as a Muscogee (Creek) citizen," MCN Pageant Committee Chair Terra Beaver said.
The pageant will be held Saturday, June 6 at 6 p.m. at the Mvskoke Dome in Okmulgee in coordination with the 2015 MCN Festival.
