Members of the Henryetta Knight Brigade band will have a full six days when they represent the town and Oklahoma at the National Memorial Day parade May 27 in Washington D.C.

There are several times set for touring some of the monuments throughout the area but the big day comes Monday when the band will march down Constitution Avenue before a crowd that is expected to be over 300,000.Henryetta Knight Brigade

Day 1 Saturday, May 25
2:00pm Depart Henryetta High School (Band Room – north side of school)

Day 2 Sunday, May 26
12:00pm Estimated arrival in Washington, D.C.
Meet your Tour Manager at Union Station
Lunch, on own
Sightseeing may include a panoramic motorcoach tour of Historic Washington, D.C.
3:00pm Check-in to the Le Méridien Arlington
4:30pm “C” Dinner at Georgetown Dining Hall
5:45pm Transfer to Wolf Trap
8:00pm Attend the U.S. Marine Band “Summer Blast Off” with fireworks at Wolf Trap National Park -or- Attend the official National Memorial Day Concert on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, featuring the National Symphony Orchestra and broadcast live on PBS
Return to the hotel for overnight

Day 3 Monday, May 27 Memorial Day
8:00am Breakfast at the hotel
Board motor coach and depart hotel
Visit the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial
Pick-up boxed lunches at the parade staging area (exact location TBD)
Report to assigned staging position (refer to Assembly Map)
2:00pm Participate in the National Memorial Day Parade on Historic Constitution Avenueband marching
Dinner at local restaurant
Evening tour of the Jefferson and Iwo Jima Memorials
9:00pm Return to hotel for overnight

Day 4 Tuesday, May 28
8:00am Breakfast at the hotel
Visit the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery and witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns
Lunch, on own
Tour of U.S. Capitol (subject to availability)
Visit the Smithsonian Institution’s Air & Space Museum
capitol dome5:00pm “C” Dinner at Richard’s Place
Evening walking tour of the Lincoln, Korean, Martin Luther King, Jr., Vietnam, and National World War II Memorials, as well as a view of the outside of the Washington Monument
Return to the hotel for overnight

Day 5 Wednesday, May 29
8:00am Breakfast at the hotel, followed by check-out
10:00am Morning visit to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Remember the Children: Daniel’s Story
Lunch, on own
Visit the Smithsonian Institution’s American History Museum
Additional time for sightseeing as time permits
4:00pm Depart for home
