Henryetta will be sending filling up the courts Friday as the state championship for tennis gets underway.
The Knights captured the regional crowns with first place wins in the 2 doubles and two singles and placed second in both the 1 doubles and 1 singles.
Playing at Lafortune Park in Tulsa, Grant Holder and John Ritter opened with a first round bye then downed Oologah in the semi finals before nailing down the win against Regent Prep.
Jordan Knox won his 2 singles regional title with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Skiatook’s Ben Seyller then shut down Oologah in the finals.
Second place in the 1 doubles saw Colten Wion and Keaton Lollis win their opening match against Oilton then downing Regent Prep to face off against Oologah in the finals. The Knights won their first set then narrowly lost the second two giving them the second place title.
The 1 singles match up went to Henryetta after Jordan Osterdock easily handled Miami’s Kenny Burton. He took a semi-finals win over Daniel Long from Oologah but lost out to Trenton Sullivent from Regent Prep.
The Henryetta team will be leaving Thursday with play to start Friday at the OKC Tennis Center.
