Chester Dale Moore, formerly from Schulter, died June 3, 2019. He was born to Leona M. (Phillips) Moore and Frank C. Moore Feb. 2, 1934 in Henryetta. Chester was married to the love of his life Wilma J. (Marshall) Moore Oct. 28, 1951 in Van Buren, Arkansas and celebrated 67 years of marriage. She survives.
Also surviving are his daughter, Connie J. Johnson (Jerry); one sister, Dorothy McCullough; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great, great child. He was preceeded in death by his parents, two son, Gary Thomas and Jack Richey, four brothers, Bill, Charles, Roy and baby Moore, two sisters, Phyllis Turley and Ruby Ann Renfo.
Chester served in the National Guard 279 Infantry and was given an honorable discharge April 28, 1951. He joined the Navy Jan. 22, 1952 and served on the U.S.S. Devastator during the Korean War. He received an honorable discharge Jan 21, 1955. He received the Korean Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
Chester retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in East Peoria, IL after 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Farmington, IL and the American Legion and the VFW in Henryetta.
Services will be held at Integrity Chapel in Henryetta Thursday June 6 at 2 p.m. The visitation will be two hours prior to the services.
