Joyce Jean Tyler, a resident of Henryetta, died June 23, 2019 at the age of 88. She was born May 17, 1930 in Baird, Tex., to Noah and Audrey (Mitchell) Cook. Joyce married John Cecil Tyler Dec. 23, 1948 and retired as an LPN at the Okmulgee Memorial Hospital. She had been a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church since 1991 and the Stitch in time Quilters club.
She is preceded in death by her husband JC, infant son Cecil Wayne and a granddaughter Mariaha Brown.
Survivors include her children: John “Kenny” Kenneth Tyler and wife Cindy of Henryetta; Sandra Kay Stephens of Henryetta; Karen Raye Martin and husband David of Henryetta; Marilyn Jean Brown and husband Albert of Weleetka; grandchildren: Wayne Tyler, Michael Tyler, Shara Moore, Sharese Paul, Jeff Mayfield, April Nixon, Krysta Stephens, Daniel Stephens, Aaron Martin, Staci Sadler, Brandi Thompson, Stephen Brown and Wendi Brown; great grandchildren: Brittany Dawn Nelson and husband Scott, Waylen Moore, Madilyn Moore, Isabella Moore, Alexia Keahler, Tiffany Mayfield, RJ Sanders, Michael, Tyler and Landon Mayfield, Ryan and Kelsey Sadler, Zoey and Zanie Thompson, Aydan Greenly, Sierra Fritts and Jasper Brown; great great grandchildren: Tyler Mayfield, Landon Nelson and Abel Moore; half sister Donna Day of Santa Barbera, Calif.,
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Ray, Officiating. Interment will follow at the Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
