Henryetta school officials are assessing the damage from a burst water line at the new gymnasium Wednesday morning.
School custodian Gary Greenfield said he saw water flowing on the track and thought it was coming from a fire hydrant.
As he approached the gym, he saw water flowing from the space under a side door.
The water had infiltrated the space between the concrete base and hardwood gym floor and flooded the locker rooms on the north side of the building.
At one point, water was coming out of weep holes in the exterior brick wall.
The damage is extensive enough that any activities at the new gym will be cancelled. No word on cost of the damage or when repairs could be made were available.
